WHO WE ARE
Salon Àcôté was founded in 1998 by Gaston Safar, with a vision to offer the best in hair care services by an internationally trained team of expert stylists in a beautiful and inviting atmosphere. Serving gourmet cappuccinos, maintaining a lush outdoor terrace, and providing an in house wedding coordinator are a few examples of our commitment to exceeding our client’s expectations.
Gaston’s journey began in the south of France, where he worked as a young hairdresser in his parent’s salon in Marseilles. Before turning 20 years old, he moved to Boston and shortly thereafter opened his first salon: Safar Coiffure with his brothers Serge and Jean-Pierre. More than four decades later, the name Safar is synonymous with beauty, style, and elegance.
In 2010, Gaston brought his passion for the hair industry to Miami Beach with the opening of his third salon: Safar Miami. Sharing the ideals of unsurpassed client satisfaction, our Miami location features furniture designed by Phillipe Starck, full height Italian marble walls, and a breathtaking patio overlooking glamorous South Beach.
Today, the Safars own three premier hair salons and have won numerous awards and received praise from nationally recognized publications, such as Allure and Elle magazine but their dedication to the craft of hairdressing and their commitment to the industry that they love has never been stronger.
